“It just looks so badass:” Academy Preemptively Presents DiCaprio with Best Actor Award

HOLLYWOOD, CA – The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has made an unprecedented move by presenting their prestigious Best Actor Award to Leonardo DiCaprio for his role in The Revenant prior to the film’s release.

“It just looks so badass,” said Academy spokesman Roger Uhn in an interview with The Daily Orb Tuesday morning, “I mean have you seen the trailer?  It’s [expletive] awesome.  We just don’t think it’s realistic anyone is going to put up a fight against this performance.”

Uhn went on to add that “we kind of felt bad about shorting him on Gilbert Grape and The Aviator and Gangs of New York and Titanic and Blood Diamond and The Departed and The Wolf of Wallstreet and Inception and Shutter Island and…well you get the picture,” he said.

DiCaprio, who has been nominated for Best Actor three times, has never won any kind of academy award for any kind of role he has had in any kind of movie.  He tweeted the following after hearing the news:
